Employee at Glasgow Burger King diagnosed with Hepatitis A

GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) – The Barren River District Health Department is investigating a case of Hepatitis A in an employee at the Glasgow Burger King. The restaurant is located at 124 James Rogers Rd.

Local public health officials have done an inspection of the restaurant, which did not result in any food code violations. All employees will be required to receive the Hepatitis A vaccine before returning to work.

The health department says Burger King has voluntarily closed to allow all employees to be vaccinated.

At this time, the health department says the risk to restaurant patrons of becoming infected is considered to be low and public health officials continue to recommend Hepatitis A vaccination in communities where hepatitis A transmission has been identified.
