Baby photo showing newborn surrounded by syringes goes viral

A photographer’s poignant image showing one couple’s four-year struggle to conceive the baby of their dreams has gone global.

Arizona-based photographer Samantha Packer – of Packer Family Photography – captured an image of the much-loved baby girl alongside every one of the IVF syringes used to bring her into the world.

‘This is the first time I have been asked to do a photo like this!’ Samantha shared to her Facebook page.

‘I was honored and wanted to create something special!

‘Mom said, “4 years, 7 attempts, 3 miscarriages and 1,616 shots,”’ Samantha continued.

The image – which Samantha gave New Idea permission to share – shows the adorable baby girl wrapped in a rainbow-coloured bundle.

Surrounding her are each of the syringes used throughout the gruelling IVF journey.

They are arranged, poignantly, in two heart shapes around her sleeping form.

One heart is made up of the needles her mother, Patricia, used for blood thinning treatments, and the other is made up of syringes she used for IVF injections.

The image has since been shared more than 60,000 times on Facebook.

Patricia and her partner Kimberly approached Samantha with an idea to turn their journey into art.

‘I hope that there’s a couple out there that’s going through what we are that can see that there’s hope at the end of the tunnel,’ Patricia told CNN.

‘There’s a light and you just have to get there.’
