  1. I have a reaction to Benefit's tinted lip balms (the ones that come in adorable glossy tubes and match their cheek stains in color but are very sheer) where my lips will dry out by midday whenever I use them. Rather sad about it since I liked the slight tint and gloss they offer.

  2. For breakouts you may want to add a salicylic acid (BHA) product since it complements the AHAs you’ve been using by sloughing out the actual pores. There are several Korean options with beautiful texture (CorsX or Mizon), but the popular Paula’s Choice is also great. The heavy guns can be found on the MUAC site (8% BHA), and then there’s Avene Cleanance K. That one burns the crap out of breakout (and my brain). Your makeup is gorgeous, btw, and I just wanted to say hi and how much I appreciate your work.

  3. Picked up Ulta’s cream shadow in metallic from a recommendation from you—wondering how that one compares to the Elf one in Cruisin Chic you’ve talked about as well. Are they similar??

  4. I didn’t have an issue with gloss bomb but I have to hardcore look st ingredients in lip products because I’m allergic to castor oil and I have that same reaction where my lips peel off in sheets. (Gross, I know.) It sucks since so many lip products contain castor oil. ???

  5. I have problems with bronzers & contour colors too. Bronzers are usually much too orange & some even lean green. Contours are either muddy or too warm to be a contour. Sometimes i just use a taupe eyeshadow for contour & that works best. The most flattering bronzer I've found is from The Balm. It's called Balm Desert. They also make Balm Beach which is very pretty(it looks more like Nude blush in the pan.) The packaging calls them blush/bronzers & you probably could skip blush on a no-make up or natural make up day. I think it's a nice color that adds warmth to the skin without being orange or fake tan looking. And it's a good color for lighter, more neutral skintones. You might like it if you haven't tried it already:) I tried the Bahama Mama by The Balm but it looks almost green in comparison to Balm Desert.

I've gotten a similar reaction to lipsticks & lipglosses in the past. My lips peeled & felt weird. It's so difficult to figure out what ingredient is causing the reaction but for me it's often the fragrance. I insist on unscented/unfragranced everything that goes on the eyes, lips or skin after too many bad experiences.

  6. That happens to me with SO MANY lip products. It could be irritant dermatitis or a contact allergy. Vaseline lip therapy (in the squeeze tube) works wonders for that peeling, bumpy, tingly/itchy thing without irritating the lips more.

  7. The ELF Tinted Lip Oil Gloss thing totally turned my lips to shreds. I am barely a gloss girl so I was excited to have an affordable gloss that was easy to wear. But it killed my lips and took me a few months to figure it out. I’m thankful the Fenty gloss does NOT do that to me!

  8. Do you talk about the Estee Lauder concealer in another video? I searched around but couldn't find anything. I've been considering it so I'd love to know more of your thoughts about it!

  9. I never comment on videos but I really wanted to let you know that the lighting in this video is really solid! I’ve really enjoyed your content but noticed that frequently, the overly warm lighting skews how products look in demos which was kind of a bummer, but it looks nice and even here! Good job :).

Also, idk if you have a history of eczema/dermatitis, but I do and I’ve noticed that if I’m having a particularly sensitive week or month, my lips react to things I’ve used many times, just like a skin flare up. I love glossbomb but it does seem to be highly fragranced, which isn’t ideal for sensitive skin, so I try to put a thin layer of balm on first to minimize reactions. 🙂

  10. No, I've never forgotten about powder products blending better over setting powder lol! That's such a basic makeup thing, especially for me as an oily girl.

As for using stuff in front of me, I keep all my makeup on, in, and around my desk so it's all in reaching distance. I bore easily so I use something different every time.

But yes! I have had terrible reactions to lip products because I'm allergic to chemical sunscreens. A few I've used contained such ingredients and my lips paid for it badly! The worst culprits have been lip balms. If they contain SPF, I make sure they're not chemical SPF.

  11. Hi Bailey. I share your struggle with finding foundation shades that work for a truly neutral undertone. The closest I have come to matching me is the Tarte Amazonian Clay “liquid” in Light Neutral, but it is too drying for my skin in the winter and the more hydrating Tarte formulas, although still labeled as Light Neutral,” are completely different colors.

We are probably fairly close in shades, so I was wondering if you have a list of foundation brands/shades that work for you. I poked around your blog site, but did not see one. If you have a reference list somewhere, would you mind pointing me to it? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to share!

  12. Great video, just heads up about your breakouts, I’ve heard a few youtubers that loved the Huda beauty foundation but they realized that it made them break out. If i remember correctly there’s an ingredient in it that can make acne flare up and the strong sent can be aggravating. I’m just mentioning it since you said you’ve been breaking out lately. 🙂
About the lipgloss, the same exact thing happens to me with the clinique glosses and lip products. I really have no clue as to why, especially since they say it’s hypoallergenic, but there’s an ingredient in there that doesn’t agree with me:-)

  13. I'm early! Haha. Yeah I have some highlighters that aren't that good but I've used them because they're the only ones I have. I picked up one of the wet n wild ones to see how it would work and so far it swatches pretty good, I'll have to see how it works on my face because I'm so pale

  14. I had the same reaction to the EOS lip balms! I wore them for so long and loved them, and then suddenly I started reacting to them with horribly chapped & peeling lips. So weird!
