Starch and veggies are healthier choice for just about anyone certain cases might happen from time to time but mainly because of prior diet so glad to trust Dr mcdougall,do use water to cook in pans works well, thanks for sharing this many need to know.
I would recommend that you smile even more throughout your everyday! And I liked that video where you said you do yoga but sometimes you just start dancing(blood flow throughout the body) just because that’s fun too(I dance sometimes too while listening to music so I get ya!).
Your a friend that doesn’t seem just normal 😉 to hangout in person because I like your ideas and how you express yourself. Continue to be happy 🙂
Sorry but what you said about noodles makes me kinda mad. You don't add oil or rinse the noodles! That's just so wrong to do… Geez. Oil or rinsing will smooth the outside of the noodles and sauce won't stick that good anymore. This and that you said in another video that after 45 mins of resting you think you have a pizza dough makes my heart ache.
Oil free cooking is doable even with just using non stick pans. You just have to start doing this using water instead of oil. As mentioned, you MAY not get the same texture but it does give the same taste of your favorite recipe. Start it now and i bet you will live with it. Have fun. – dong dizon
Babe, if you buy extra virgin olive oil is actually one of the healthiest foods one can consume. You have to use it raw on all ingredients and dishes, and it tastes amazing. I can’t believe in countries like the US it is thought that olive oil is not healthy.
I'm a wfpb no oil. So I do too think oil is not a healthy food. But I also think that burning vegetables, then using water to wash off the burned part so it sticks to the food, it is not a healthy procedure either. I really hate how American mistreat pasta. Washing pasta off after it's done, adding oil to cooking pasta… Makes my Italian blood shiver lol
Doesn't burning the veggies also create carcinogens because of the acrylamide that forms chemically? Wouldn't it be better to use a tiny amount of coconut oil? Interesting video…
this kind of video really really really makes me cringe. Do you even do your research? I am so freaked out by the fact that people watch this video and even agree with what you say. Avoid low-quality oils such as Coconut oil and such, and start using only EVOO. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is ESSENTIAL in a well-balanced Mediterranean diet. I can't believe that you would suggest otherwise. Believe me, I tried to stop using Extra Virgin Olive Oil and I almost went BALD. Oil is good for our body, our BRAIN (read, learn…), it is good for our cardio-vascular system, and I could go on forever.
your ideas seem remarkably similar to that other guy mik the vegan who posted his video a few days before this one….have to give this a try as the oil has go
I want to say something about what you're saying about parchment paper. The biggest mistake that people have is thinking that parchment paper and wax paper is the same. Food will not stick to parchment paper!!!! Also wax paper will burn and it will burn quickly, and parchment paper will not. All you have to do is move whatever you're boiling to a lower level in the oven and it will not burn. Wax paper is not non-stick and it will burn!!!
There are societies that have used oil for centuries and they've lived long. My great grandfather loves Olive oil when he bakes vegetables and he's 99 and he looks younger. So…moderation is key people. Veganism is already a limiting diet to many people and adding on all the things to cut out make people think the lifestyle is hard. Just stick to animal concern.
I will never let go of oil. Sorry. I dont use it like crazy but I do use it. When I do finally become vegan I will continue to consume oil. Eating only things like avocado (which I don't like), and nuts ( which gets expensive) as your only source of fat is boring. Also sauteing vegetables with water is so flavorless to me but Ill admit I've never tried it with broth.
So helpful ! I tried a few recipes and I'm definitely going to give this oil free thing a try ( I was vegetarian frowning up and a few weeks ago I went vegan )
Nothing makes me cringe more than when I watch a cooking show and after they cook everything in oil, they proceed to drizzle olive oil over everything afterwards. Why???
Whole food vegans thumbs up
I just wanna make bacon and eggs with no oil or butter but the bacon keeps sticking to the pan and starts burning
does anyone know how to make kale chips without oil?

Caitlin, thank you for being you 🙂

What about vegan butter and non dairy milk that often contain seed oil?
I found a study that saw a link between vegetable oil and lung cancer. Especially when cooking with it and breathing in the fume.
sorry its trivago adverts, and her name is Gabrielle Miller
You are the image of the woman on the Kayak advert.
yes, i'm vegan, it's wonderful to be vegan.

What about stir frying with coconut butter?
i think my brain is getting raw while waiting for the actual tips to start . Jeez
solid info here
full of herself and full of shit.
"Rinse the pasta once you are done cooking it."
Italians cringe across the world.

Good tips, I couldn’t finish watching your video because you tend to whine while you talk and it’s extremely annoying.
are you a taurus
not vegan but i love your videos so much!! thinking about it though 🙂
I feel like you're super down to earth! Subbed! 😀
that disclaimer at the beginning was so beautiful and well said ha
problem is though that caramelization combined with the toxins from the non stick coating and aluminiun base, you'd be better off using oil, LOL .
(biomedical engineer) I know what I am talking about *
You CANNOT saute without at the very least rubbing your pan with a bit of oil. With water, you're steaming and food just doesn't taste the same.
water in any pan works and stops burning

Should I always leave the oven open slightly when baking fries? Good video btw.
I just subscribed to you! 😀
Great video, instructions!

You are so smart Caitlin. Thank you for this video. So helpful! ??

I was looking for a video like this! Thank you, this is so informative:)

How are you gonna suggest people replace oil with water in baking tho? Water will just evaporate:s
I fry with a steel pan. When it gets dry just add more water and the food won't stick. No problem.

Doesn't dry cooking in non-stick pans release toxic fumes? What brand pans do you use?

I'm spreading a little bit of arrow root on my fries to get them crispy ! It really does the job. Still loving the contents you share <3
you aren't supposed to use silicone mats above 480F, so you shouldn't use the broiler with them either.
